Happy Dragon Boat Festival

Happy Dragon Boat Festival!

Greetings, friends of NanZen!

These past couple of days, I’ve been getting nagged by some of the longtime members of the study club in Hsinchu—probably because I once wrote that I had forgotten about Dr. Huang… and suddenly a whole crew jumped in to remind me—haha 😆

Two months ago, I actually wrote a message to thank the Hsinchu study group for their support. I mentioned that I hadn’t really left Hsinchu—just relocated to work with the company clubwith Chunde. But I ended up deleting the post before sharing it.

Anyway, once I looked at some old photos, all the memories came back!

Big thanks to all the wonderful ladies who gave me rides to and from the high-speed rail station, to those who brought delicious homemade dishes from Taipei, and for all those little moments captured in the photos at NanZen Vihara. I really appreciate everything!

By the way, the photo from our Hsinchu farewell dinner—the one where everyone was waving goodbye—I took that one! Thank you all again for your kindness and support.

Also, huge thanks to Zongyuan—our Taipei expert—for introducing us to so many people and things—especially Master Jiang Youting and his Tenmoku teacups.

Thanks to Zongyuanwe actually got to hold Master Jiang’s beautiful Tenmoku cups in our hands. Thinking back, that was a bit terrifying! 🙏 I haven’t forgotten, so please stop naggingme!

Oh, and here’s a funny little story:

Zongyuan’s wife went to Taipei First Girls’ High School, and all her classmates knew her dad delivered newspapers.

When he passed away, I was asked to perform the soul transfer ritual for him. I didn’t go to Taipei—instead, I directly invited his spirit to NanZen Vihara in Pingtung.

And that’s when a little family secret came to light:

Her father wasn’t just delivering newspapers—he was managing newspaper distribution! That’s a big difference!

The moment he arrived, I could sense that he was someone with deep spiritual roots, and I thought, "There’s no way someone like this was just delivering papers."

That story ended up becoming a long-running joke at the study club in Hsinchu😄
