Readers from Northern Europe

Readers from Northern Europe

Greetings, friends of NanZen!

Yesterday, our blog received its first visit from Denmark.

It might have been a click shared by an anonymous user, which let me know that we now have readers in Denmark too.

It seems that our blog “Search For Enlightenment with NanZen ViharaAn Investigation into Practice of Buddhism is now reaching most parts of Europe.

I’ve been to Denmark before during my travels in Northern Europe.

So here’s a warm hello to our Danish readers!

Here’s a photo of the band just after a performance—you can clearly see how successful it was from the joyful expressions on everyone’s faces.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  Master Banji

Greetings, friends of NanZen!

Someone told me that even though I’ve finished writing my articles, readers still feel confused. The high view counts from Singapore and Hong Kong reflects everyone’s earnest effort in practice.

During my last visit to Hsinchu Science Park, I offered guidance to a lay Buddhist who had practiced for many years. Later, I reinforced the teaching through Line, and she improved significantly. It made me realize that it was wrong not to visit Hsinchu sooner!

Meeting in person often brings out the student’s thoughts and gives me a clearer sense of how to offer proper guidance.

I mentioned to President Chunde that I intended to return to Hsinchu Science Park, so he would not need to travel to the study club in Chaozhou, Pingtung.

He replied that he would still come, as it allows him to ask questions directly. This reflects the attitude and feeling of those who learn Buddhism under my guidance.

Some overseas readers may have deeply studied my works and practiced diligently, but when certain blind spots cannot be resolved, arrange an in-person discussionbecomes necessary.

I would like to share these recent updates.

                                                                                                                                                                                                           Master Banji

Greetings, friends of NanZen!

Greetings, friends of NanZen!

After I stopped writing, Ive received a lot of concern from many people. Im doing very well!

Readers on the internet might not realize how busy I actually am. I have to deal with many things for the lay members at NanZen Vihara, and even more since I started going to the Science Park. My workload is beyond what most people can imagine!

But my main principle remains the same  writing more about what has already been clearly explained in the Dharma would be redundant.

One should take the map of the Dharma and explore the mountain of wisdom personally. Thank you so much for all your care and concern.

Lately, Ive been dealing with issues related to dementia among the elderly. I haven’t figured out how to write about it yet, but I’ll share it when I get some inspiration. Thanks again to all my readers!

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival 🥮

Thanks to the readership from Singapore and Hong Kong, there has been a remarkable surge in views across the Chinese-speaking regions.

When I woke up this morning and saw the numbers, I was truly surprised—and at a loss for words.

In the early days, few could understand the Dharma I tried to share.

Today, witnessing such a response stirs both awe and humility within me.

If the Dharma reflections I originally pursued for my own understanding

have contributed in any way to clarifying the teachings,

then it is my deepest expression of gratitude to the Dharma—

a humble return of what I have received from the Dharma.

Thank you all.

On this Mid-Autumn Festival, which is also the Buddhist day of merit dedication on the 15th of each lunar month,

I would like to extend blessings and heartfelt thanks

to all the laymen who have supported me along the way.

May you all grow in wisdom and merit.

In sincerity,

Master Banji

無我No-Self (Anatta

No-Self (Anatta)

Here’s something we talked about recently.

The concept of anatta (no-self), as explained through the principle of dependent origination, is generally well-accepted.

However, we all still function within a sensory perception shaped by the sense of self (atta).

It is through this self-based perception that we must practice becoming familiar with and accepting the idea of no-self.

Rather than rushing to believe that we’ve already achieved a state of no-self—and looking down on any mention of the self—

If you simply try to eliminate the self, isn’t that like trying to erase your very existence?

Or do we have to suffocate the brain just to convince ourselves we're on the path of no-self?

Instead, let us use the sense of self as a means to gradually cultivate the understanding and acceptance of no-self.

Shared for your reflection.

Dear Readers from the U.S. and Europe,

Dear Readers from the U.S. and Europe,

Our readers from the United States and Germany truly caught my attention!

After I shared a message for our Singaporean and Hong Kong readers,

just two days ago, someone from your region made a quiet, anonymous click—letting me know you’re present and reading too.

👋 A warm hello to you!

I’m aware that many of you from the U.S. and Europe visit the NanZen blog regularly.

May your journey in Dharma bring ever-growing wisdom and insight.

Open the door

A reader from Switzerland saw my post titled "Transition" in which I stated that I had completed all the Buddhist teachings I had to share and that I would no longer be writing.

Despite this, the reader continues to call out, “Open the door.”

I have written extensively about Buddhism. I kindly suggest going through my earlier writings for better context.

This reader is new and not yet familiar with my previous work.

If you have any questions about Buddhism, feel free to email me. I will definitely reply.

Sincerely,

Dear Readers in Singapore and Hong Kong,

Every day, our NanZen Foundation blog receives visits from readers in both Singapore and Hong Kong.

I hold a particularly strong impression of our readers from these regions, as this pattern has remained steady for quite some time.

I thought it’s time I responded and sent my greetings to all of you! 🙏

Who knows—perhaps we’ll even have a chance to hold a study group someday! Haha 😄

Wishing all NanZen readers abundant insight in the Dharma.
